Town Podcast Explores Revolutionary History Ahead of Independence Day

Town Manager Jayne Wellman's podcast dropped a new episode on Reading's Revolutionary War history Tuesday, the same week residents can tune in to a major public financial forum scheduled for Thursday.

**TOWN HALL**

The town's "Reading Between the Lines" podcast — produced in partnership with RCTV and hosted by Town Manager Jayne Wellman — released a new episode this week focused on Reading's Revolutionary history. The episode is available now through the town's website. Residents interested in local history have a timely listen ahead of the upcoming Independence Day holiday.

Also on the town's radar: Chute Street remains partially closed through Thursday, June 25, as part of the ongoing High Street Improvements Project. The southern half of the street is shut for water main replacement work, with an additional morning-only closure scheduled for Sunday, June 28.

**COMING UP**

Thursday, June 25, is a packed day at Town Hall. The Finance Committee, Select Board, and School Committee will convene together for a Joint Financial Forum to discuss Reading's financial outlook, budget planning, and the collaborative work underway to chart the town's fiscal future. The Council on Aging also meets that day. All four meetings are on the town's official calendar at readingma.gov.

Looking further ahead, Whitelam Books is hosting a book launch with children's author Monica Acker on Saturday, June 28. The Town Forest Committee meets Monday, June 29.
